16" circular needle size 6 or 7
Double pointed needles in the same size
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers, if desired

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows to 4" square

Directions:
Cast on 80 sts
Place marker for beginning and join for knitting in the round
K2P2 to end of round.
Continue in ribbing for 2" (4.5" for watch cap)
Knit even (one color or with stripes, as you wish)until entire piece measures 6.5"

Begin decreases:

Row 1: SSK, K 16, K2 together repeat to end (decrease 8 sts).

Row 2: SSK, K 14, K2 together repeat to end (decrease 8 sts).

Continue decreasing in this manner until 8 sts remain (using DPNs when necessary)
Use needle and thread through the remaining stitches.
