Meters and yards

You mention leaving three or four yards of yarn after the square is finished. You give the equivalent of four yards as two meters. Two meters is about two yards. One meter is only 3 inches longer than a yard.
I started my first square last night. I used 4.5 mm needles with US worsted wool and 32 stitches as suggested. That gave me a 6" square. It's back to the drawing board for me tonight!
I prefer to crochet. I will check your ezine and hope to get some directions there.
