Knitting during my chemo

by Jan Simonds
(Clear Lake, Houston, TX)

Since my diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer metastasized, which I received in March, I have been knitting squares during my weekly chemo sessions - as well as a lot at home. I always find knitting calms me down and it's something I can do at home when my energy from treatments is low.

I'll have to get my husband to take a picture of me with my baby fine little tufts of hair. What little I have is now blonde and my original hair was reddish brown - very strange. Maybe when it grows back it'll go back to the original color - or I'll help it with a bottle of Lorreal.

My spirits are good and I'm surrounded by lots of love from family and my church family - knitters and others.
