Free crochet pattern for the Square Vest
Here's a free crochet pattern for the Square Vest, which Jill from
wool crafting.com
has converted from Zanny's knitting pattern, for those of you who prefer to crochet for charity. Jill does amazing crochet work including designing and writing original crochet patterns. She says it is a simple crochet pattern and she enjoyed making it. The Square Vest looks very pretty on her teddy bear and in its current form, we believe it would be the perfect size for a large baby up to a small two year old.
Jill said it didn't get over her 3 year old's head, whereas Zanny's pattern has quite a large opening for the head, as you can see on her great nephew, Luca. (He was only one and a half when this photograph was taken.)
We would be very grateful to hear from any of you, who have very young children and who download and use this free crochet pattern as to how well the neck fits. Please email me to let us know, thank you. If you are learning to crochet and need to practice, then this simple crochet pattern is ideal, with the added benefit that you can send it to Africa for the abandoned children and the AIDS orphans. Download the free crochet pattern for the Square Vest by filling in form below. As with the blankets made out of the 8 x 8" knitted squares, the children will treasure these garments for their colours and patterns as much as for the warmth that they will give them. Thank you. And please subscribe to the
Square Circle ezine
for stories of the children and their blankets.
