FAQS - hats

About the author: Donna Kooler heads up a team of creative craft designers. This is the simplest and easiest hat pattern book I could find with 17 patterns all of which require minimum finishing.

These are the most frequently asked questions (FAQS) about hats. If you have additional questions, please contact us, we will answer them and post the Q & A here. Thank you.

Q: Can we knit hats as well as squares?
A: Yes, we welcome hats of all sizes for babies, girls and boys. See a basic knitted hat pattern here.

Q: Can we crochet hats ?
A: Yes. See a basic crochet hat pattern here.

Q: What about hats for preemie babies?
A: Yes, preemie hats will be taken to the Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto by the Soweto Comfort Club

Q: What are the postal instructions for knitted and crochet hats?
A: The same as for squares, make sure if possible that they are wrapped in plastic wrap or posted in a plastic lined envelope to ensure they are moisture free, and send to the Soweto Comfort Club address.

Q: Can we crochet or knit patterns for hats other than those on the knit a hat page?
A: Yes, please do. We welcome new patterns for the site, so please submit your crochet or knitted hat patterns if they are your own design, or known to be copyright free below.

The crochet hats on the left are from Mary and the Norwegian knitted hats on the right from Bellalou, both committed community members of knit-a-square.
